Aston Martin launches new Vantage model in India, priced at Rs 3.99 crore
The new Aston Martin Vantage presents a more aggressive facade compared to its predecessor. It features a prominent grille spanning almost the entire width of the front bumper, accompanied by redesigned intakes at the edges.
Aston Martin has introduced the latest iteration of its Vantage model in India, starting at Rs 3.99 crore (ex-showroom, India). Recently unveiled globally, the revamped sports coupe boasts significant exterior restyling along with notable interior enhancements, including a revamped dashboard and an entirely new software platform.
Exterior enhancements
The new Vantage presents a more aggressive facade compared to its predecessor. It features a prominent grille spanning almost the entire width of the front bumper, accompanied by redesigned intakes at the edges. Characterised by stronger lines on the bonnet and larger, more rounded headlamps with a new three-piece LED DRL signature, the Vantage exhibits a familial resemblance with the DB12 and draws inspiration from the One-77 supercar.
Profile and rear design
Air ducts on the fenders have been subtly redesigned, while the rear showcases a more aggressive bumper and diffuser setup. With a 30mm increase in width, the new Vantage enhances its overall stance, complemented by frameless mirrors and flush electronic door handles.
Interior innovations
Internally, the Vantage follows suit with the DB12, introducing a completely revamped cockpit prioritising connectivity, engagement, and refinement. Departing from the outgoing model's dated Mercedes-sourced software, the new Vantage adopts an in-house developed infotainment platform featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen with bespoke software. Noteworthy features include 3D live mapping, wireless smartphone mirroring, and last-mile on-foot navigation.
Powertrain
The Vantage receives a significant power boost with its Mercedes-AMG-derived 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, now delivering 665hp and 800Nm of torque. This enhancement propels the standard Vantage from 0 to 100kph in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 325kph. The power increase is attributed to extensive tuning, including new cam profiles, tweaked compression ratios, improved cooling, and larger turbochargers. Driving dynamics are further enhanced with features like adaptive dampers, an electronic rear differential, and 21-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot S 5 tires.
Future outlook
While Aston Martin has not disclosed plans for electrification, the V8 engine's inclusion in Mercedes-AMG's plug-in hybrids hints at potential future developments. Priced competitively against models like the Bentley Continental GT and Porsche 911 in India, the new Vantage aims to captivate enthusiasts with its performance and sophistication.
