Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 Quick Review: A trip down memory lane
Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 Quick Review: The camera is small and feels light. You can easily carry it on your trips. There is a neck strap and a tripod socket as well in the box.
Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 Quick Review: Fujifilm has announced one more device under its Instax lineup - Instax Mini 99. Priced at Rs 20,999, this instant camera will be available from April 4. I have been using this camera for a few days and here's my quick review.
- The leatherette matte texture with an all-black aesthetic is comfortable to hold and evokes nostalgia. The camera is small and feels light. You can easily carry it on your trips. There is a neck strap and a tripod socket as well in the box.
- You have to charge the battery separately and it gives a decent backup. I clicked a couple of pics but the battery status remained unchanged.
- I got two packets of film and each one of them costs around Rs 800 — each photo costs approximately Rs 80.
- This analogue camera comes with six six-colour effect controls that allow users to broaden the range of print expressions. For those who are not fans of filters, there's an option of neutral (N) as well.
- Faded Green (FG): Delivers a classic, filmic style to your photos.
- Warm Tone (WT): It adds a sense of warmth and emotion.
- Light Blue: This creates a gentle, light and refreshing atmosphere.
- Soft Magenta: This one adds a reddish hue.
- Sepia: Adds a yellow tint for a timeless look.
- Light Leak: Add a dramatic light bleed effect to your photos.
- Adjusting the brightness is quite convenient and there are four levels - two on each side of a neutral point.
- Two shutter buttons on the Instax Mini 99 help click portrait and landscape pictures equally convenient. However, getting used to this unusual placement may take some time.
- There is no selfie mirror. Adding one would have been better but remember that Instax Mini 99 is about keeping the design classic.
- A small monochrome information display shows basic details like mode, sheets available and self-timer.
- The optical viewfinder gives you a fair preview of how your photos will appear.
- Clicking images is quite easy and it takes around 90 seconds to develop the image completely on the film. You can even use the INSTAX UP app to scan and save your images in high quality. This also makes sharing these images quite easy.
